BRANDI COATES

Brandi Coates is a strategic leader with a deep bench of experience in economics, capital markets, and risk management. She works comfortably at the intersection of finance, technology, and innovation primarily in strategy and product development. Previously she developed statistical models to mitigate losses, project exposure, and determine capital holdings at JP Morgan Chase. She joined the private sector after a productive tenure at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York where she coauthored papers, wrote briefings, and was instrumental in developing new data products including the Quarterly Report on Household Debt and Credit, and the Survey of Consumer Expectations - a measure of inflation predictions. 

Her cited contributions include work on household finance at the New York Fed, labor economics at the Boston Fed, and health economics at the National Bureau of Economic Research in partnership with the Harvard School of Public Health. Her work has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Bloomberg News, and the Financial Times. Ms. Coates holds a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the University of Michigan, a Master's in Mathematics from UCLA, and is a National Science Foundation Fellow of the American Economic Association. She is an avid supporter of the arts having served with the Young Patron Circle of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater before joining the board as treasurer of MOVE|NYC|.
