Tim Nguyen is a multidisciplinary artist driven by his deep belief in the transformative power of creativity. Born in Brooklyn and raised in Queens, his artistic journey began early and by age 10, he was already making short films on his father’s flip phone. The arts have been prevalent for most of his life – from beginning piano at six to cultivating his enduring passion for cinema.
He attended Vassar College, where he received a B.A. in Film with Honors, along with minor degrees in French and Mathematics. During his time there, his role as the Box Office Manager for Vassar’s Drama Department exposed Tim to the other wonderful mediums of art, deepening his appreciation for theatre, studio art, and dance.
Tim began his professional career as a Production Coordinator at Guest House Productions, a documentary film production company. There, he worked under the direction of Emma Wall and Betsy Hershey to document the stories of U.S. climate activists navigating an increasingly divided and hostile nation. Wanting to explore all aspects of filmmaking, Tim transitioned into the role of video editor for Silvia Fassi Inc., where he curated product videos for Fortune 500 companies.
Outside of his professional work, Tim has been involved in more than a dozen film productions, many of which have screened at festivals, including the NY Shorts International Film Festival, the NFFTY, the Big Apple Film Festival, and the LA Crime & Horror Film Festival.
Tim is excited to bring a thoughtful, impact-focused approach to the Business & Operations role at MOVE|NYC|.
