ADMINISTRATIVE INTERN

Atlanta native MacKenzy began her dance journey at age 5, shaping her early training with diverse experiences in Metro-Atlanta studios. Introduced to the dance industry at 13 through Dance Canvas’s outreach program DC NEXT, under Angela Harris's guidance, she not only mastered technique but also gained insights into the production and artistic development process.

Taking this dedication to dance with her, MacKenzy attended Idyllwild Arts Academy in California for highschool. She delved deeper into her passion at Idyllwild Arts Academy in California, guided by directors Ellen Rosa Taylor and Jonathan Sharp. Throughout high school, she further refined her skills at Idyllwild Arts Academy in California, guided by the expertise of Ellen Rosa Taylor, Jonathan Sharp, and Patrick Franz in Ballet. For contemporary and jazz, she was molded by the skilled instruction of Irishia Hubbard, Hai Cohen, and Stephanie Gilliland. Her time at Idyllwild Arts was marked by captivating performances in a varied repertoire, including notable pieces like "There is a Time" by José Limón, directed by Artistic Director Dante Puleio, and classic productions such as West Side Story, A Midsummer’s Night Dream, Alice in Wonderland, and Swan Lake.

Upon graduating in 2020, MacKenzy continued her dance education at Florida State University's School of Dance, where she explored and expressed her artistic voice. Under the mentorship of esteemed artists like Jawole WIlla Jo Zollar, Kara Wilkes, Ilana Goldman, Donna Uchizono, Caleb Mitchell, and Irvin Gonzales, she broadened her artistic horizons. Notably, MacKenzy showcased her talent in the performance of "Women’s Resistance" by Urban Bush Women, instructed by the renowned Benalldra Williams.

Driven by an insatiable passion, MacKenzy is currently immersed in continuing to diversify her repertoire, aspiring to evolve into a holistic and well-rounded dancer. Her journey continues to unfold as she seeks inspiration from a myriad of influences, shaping her into a dynamic force within the world of dance.
