JALENE MEDINA

pROGRAMs MANAGER

Jalene Medina was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York and began her dance training at Vicky Simegiatos Performing Arts Center. She continued her dance training at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School and received additional training from the School of American Ballet and The Alvin Ailey School, before attending Vassar College. A 2023 graduate of Vassar College, she has a B.A. in Mathematics and Dance Studies.  As a member of the Vassar Repertory Dance Theater, under Stephen Rooks, Jalene performed original works by Jennifer Archibald, Amy Hall Garner, Desmond Richardson, Yoshito Sakuraba, and Mike Tyus.  

Since graduating Jalene has gained experience in arts administration as an intern at the Martha Graham School, Battery Dance Festival, and at MOVE|NYC|’s annual Summer Intensive.  In the fall of 2023, Jalene began working at the Alvin Ailey School and took on the role of Executive Assistant at MOVE|NYC|. 

An alumna of MOVE|NYC|’s Young Professionals Program, Jalene is excited to take on the role of Programs Manager and provide meaningful support to the young artists of the field.
