Thy-Lan Alcalay is a New York City–based dancer and choreographer, and a recent graduate of Barnard College of Columbia University, where she earned dual degrees in Dance and Architecture with a focus on Spatial Design and Phenomenology. She graduated with departmental honors in both fields.
She has worked professionally with David Dorfman Dance, assisted Roderick George, and was a guest artist with Martha Graham II. Her training includes Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School, MOVE|NYC|, The Ailey School, Martha Graham School, French Académie of Ballet, and the Joffrey Ballet School. A recipient of the Robert and Carol Horne Dance Award and the LaGuardia Performance Award, she has performed works by Andrea Miller, A.I.M by Kyle Abraham, Francesca Dominguez, Norbert De La Cruz III, Wesley Ensminger, Amanda Krische, Lisa Fagan & Lena Engelstein, and VIM VIGOR.
Beyond dance, she has contributed to diverse institutions including NASA, Columbia University Irving Medical Center, JPMorgan Chase & Co., and Serdar Architecture Firm.
